We are excited to announce our title, How to Run a Business During a Zombie Apocalypse, (AKA Covid) has been selected as a finalist for the Florida Authors and Publishers Association Book Awards! The book was written by President of Richter Publishing LLC, Tara Richter, during the summer of 2020. With the global pandemic cutting sales and shuttering many businesses, Ms. Richter wrote of her own struggles to keep her indie publishing house afloat. The book was released in October 2020, fitting with whimsical zombie images to keep the dire topic in a humorous tone. Humor has always gotten the publisher through many hardships and this one is no exception. The book hit Amazon Best Sellers list and still ranks high in the respective categories eight months later. Interestingly enough many readers have submitted reviews yet Amazon won’t publish them. I suppose they are afraid of the zombies coming to get them too? Irregardless this book will eat away at your brain. Telling the truth of what we all went through as business owners. The truth will be told even if you don’t like it. FAPA President Book Award Banquet will be on July 31, 2021 in Orlando to see if it wins a Gold, Silver or Bronze. Get your copy today!

Inspiration strikes at the most random times – Don’t let it pass! You might not always have a piece of paper and pen handy, but your smart phone is either in your hand, back pocket or purse at all times. USE IT!
I composed my second and third books in small chunks writing everywhere you could imagine. I used the notepad app on my iPhone. I even bought a fifty dollar Bluetooth keyboard so I can easily sit and write when I’m inspired. Once I’m done with my thoughts I email it to myself so when I get home, it’s waiting in my inbox. Then I copy and paste it into a Word document and clean it up.
Anytime you gave a extra five minutes in your day, you need to write. Waiting in line to pick up the kids from school? Write on your smart phone or tablet. Walking on the treadmill? Jot some ideas down. I get some of my best ideas wiggle working out, probably because of all the blood pumping through my veins and those feel-good endorphins flooding my body.
Traveling soon? Airports are another great place to write. Just think about how many minutes you waste lining up to be groped by security, waiting for delayed flights, or sitting on the plane while the staff fuels up, thinking, Damn where is that truck to push back the plane?

This week, Richter Publishing’s title spotlight is on “How to Catch a Shark” by Anthony Amos & Kevin Harrington —
What is a shark in today’s business world? Sharks are tough, self-made, multi-millionaire and billionaire tycoons and they are always searching for the best businesses and products that America has to offer.
Anthony Amos describes the unique types of sharks, from the nocturnal Nurse shark who is known for being the silent partner; they may invest as part of a group and really only care about the return on their investment, to the Hammerhead shark, the most social of the sharks who enjoy swimming in large schools of other business experts and have no natural enemies. These and several more types of sharks can provide the funding and connections you may desperately need as an entrepreneur, but if you pick to hunt the wrong shark you may end up just chumming the waters.
Amos introduces how to never lose the millionaire mindset, even if your bank account may not reflect the same. Crediting a nice guy attitude, he shares how you may need to cut your losses when hunting for sharks, but that you need to do it nicely. How sometimes you can land the wrong shark, and what to do about it, and Anthony introduces his personal friend, business partner, and shark, Kevin Harrington.
“Nice guys are shark bait,” says Amos, and he describes his own personal stories and brushes with the wrong sharks including explaining why congruent values are critical, adding value to business is a priority, and creating a partnership that is fun and rewarding is your best chance for hunting sharks.
Using some history from our last decade of financial collapse, Amos explains how the me-first attitude in business was turned upside down and entrepreneurs realized their approach had to change. Increased collaboration with suppliers, taking on financial strategic partners and teaming with other companies who shared similar demographics, even taking the option of returning to the workforce while still stoking the embers of ambition on a part-time basis; all of these became critical for success in a new economy and marketplace.
