Three local authors won honors in the Tampa Bay Book Gala and Awards Ceremony, hosted by Richter Publishing LLC. Dr. Mary B. Lippitt, author of “Brilliant or Blunder: 6 Ways Leaders Navigate Uncertainty, Opportunity & Complexity,” won for overall best non-fiction. Best cover went to William D. Anton, for “Business Success through Self-Knowledge.” Best business and finance book went to Douglas A.C. Eze, for “Creating Generational Wealth: What the Super Wealthy Know That You Need to Know.” Each author will donate one of their books to the St. Petersburg library.

Libby Oberg to Feature her Book Origami at Tampa Book Gala!
Libby Oberg will have her “Book Origami” for sale at the Tampa Bay Book Gala & Author Award Ceremony Nov 5th in Clearwater, Florida!
She creates these uni
que pieces by folding the pages in the book to form words or shapes. “WRITE” was created using a Websters Dictionary.
Libby can create custom designs or use your own book! The possibilities are endless. How about your son’s name in a book about baseball? Or the word “FAITH” in a Bible?
The “Christmas Tree” was made in the book “A Christmas Carol.” The end of the pages are lined in gold which really makes this one sparkle!

Whenever I tell peop
le I can help them write a book in four weeks, I always get a look of confusion and dismay. “That can’t be done! Books take years and years of methodical research and time consuming edits!” Well the fact is, YES it can be done. We now live in an age of instant gratification and the old ways of writing a book on a typewriter have long passed.
I have helped many authors write and publish their stories in just a few short weeks. The process is truly amazing. The first part is getting over that mental hurdle in your mind that you must work on a novel for ten some years. I think that’s a big hurdle for people to overcome. Once you have opened your mind to the process and changed your attitude towards writing and publishing, you will embrace the wonderful new age of quick results.
The methods that I am sharing with you in this guide book are the same principals I give workshops on and teach my authors. Once you take the great feat of writing a book and breaking it down into small simple steps, anything is possible. When people set forth to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, they do not do it in one big leap, but by putting one foot in front of the other. Most people think writing a book is a huge mountain to overcome, yet they are looking at the top from the bottom. They don’t see the small, little steps in front of them that they must begin with.
I have broken down the complex writing process into an easy to follow streamlined process for anyone to write a book in four weeks. It just takes discipline to stay on track. You can’t hike half-way up the mountain and then decide it’s too much work. Just consistently take the small steps each day and soon you will be on your way to becoming a published author!

Copyright Your Book in the US Library of Congress
Many authors have questions about copyrighting their works in the beginning phases of writing their books. When you initially publish a book, the publication date acts as a type of copyright on that information. You are the author and are taking claim to the information by publishing it.
For instance my first book, “10 Rules to Survive the Dating Jungle” was initially published on January 21ST, 2012. So if someone published the same book with same stories on the inside after I did, I obviously published it first. And they are my personal stories, unless someone else was married to a sociopath, it’s pretty obvious I own the copyright to this content.
However, if for some reason you ended up having to go to court, that publication date alone will probably not be enough evidence. You want to cover your basis and file an official copyright with the US Library of Congress. It’s very easy and simple to do. You want to take the steps to protect your literary works. After all, you put in the handwork to write & publish it, so you also need to protect it.

You need a finished manuscript before filling out the copyright paper work. So don’t file after only writing two chapters. Do it after you are completed or even after first book is published. Once the book is published it will be assigned an ISBN number, which is unique to each book. The ISBN number (International Standard Book Number) will be attached to your filing. Then you can mail in an actual copy of the book to the Library of Congress. This is how I’m registering all of my books.
Once you have the official “Library of Congress Catalog-in-Publication data” you can re-publish with that information.
