We are excited to announce the 2018 date and venue for Tampa’s 5th Annual Author Awards Ceremony & Book Gala! Grab your table early before they’re gone.

Submit your book for an award! This year we are opening the gala to all published authors. Anyone who would like to enter their physical book to compete in these categories:

  • Best Children’s Book

  • Best Book in St. Pete (Sponsored by Modern Photography Group)

Local businesses can also purchase a table to sell and market their products to attendees and writers! Submission also includes a feature in our magazine, “Entrepreneur 2 Author.” The submission deadline is September 1st, 2018. Meet Richter Publishing Author, George Trowbridge this Saturday during his Book Signing at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9272!

This Saturday, 4/28, Richter Publishing author, George Trowbridge, will be having a book signing as well as a discussion event form 1-3pm at the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 9272.

In Trowbridge’s novel, Striking Eight Bells: A Vietnam Memoir, he recounts his journey from the Midwest to a warship in the Gulf of Tonkin during the closing months of the Vietnam War. Choosing to enlist in the Navy at 19, versus being drafted into the military, Trowbridge left a wife and newborn son in the States as he traversed the oceans of the globe to fight in America’s most unpopular war. George shares the details of the living conditions on board a naval destroyer during this era, what it was like going through training, the grind for his ship’s crew in supporting ground forces with naval gunfire, as well as the strike attacks his ship made on enemy coastal defenses, and finally coming home at the end of the war. This emotional story is not only historically focused, but it also is informative about life in the military, all filtered through the personal lens of a firsthand perspective.

Bring your computer, grab a drink, and settle in for focused writing time, plus access to an experienced publisher for help and advice. At the end of the series, submit your manuscript for a chance to win a free publishing contract through Richter Publishing’s annual contest! (Entries due August 1, 2018.  Author or a representative must physically be present in October 13th 2018 at our annual author awards ceremony to accept the contract if they win.)  

Each session will have a focus. The first 30 minutes Tara will cover a certain topic to help you with your manuscript. Afterwards we will break into certain groups where you can write silently or collaborate with other aspiring authors. Tara will also be available for private coaching during the night.

 

Each session is $10. Sessions go from 5:30 -8:30 PM. They will be held at the The Kaizen Collaborative, located at 5215 W Laurel Street, Suite 110, Tampa, Florida 33607.

Tara Richter will be Speaking at the OWAA Conference for the Second Time This June!

For the second year in a row, Founder and President of Richter Publishing, Tara Richter will be speaking at the Outdoor Writers Association of America Conference in Indiana this June.

Members of the outdoor media have incredible opportunities throughout the 3-day event to hone in on their outdoor communication skills by attending seminars, building relationships with other professionals and testing state-of-the-art equipment at “Breakout Day.” Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from some of the best outdoor communication professionals at seminars that will unlock your full potential as a professional. You can also take advantage of pre- and post-conference trips that take you on incredible outdoor adventures to build story material. Richter Publishing will be at the AWP Conference and Book Fair, the largest literary conference in North America, this Thursday–Saturday. The AWP Conference & Book Fair is an essential annual destination for writers, teachers, students, editors, and publishers.

days of insightful dialogue, networking, and unrivaled access
