Going Back to School Books

As summer break comes to an end, kids and teachers are preparing for the new school year to kick off. Going back to school is exciting for so many reasons. It is always an enjoyment to make new friends, to see our old ones, and to learn and teach new things!

At Richter Publishing, we have books for teachers and kids.

For children, there are the Riley and Milo books written by Cassie L. D’Addeo. In Riley and Her Big Feelings at School, Riley’s story teaches kids how to cope with their emotions and inspires them to be honest with their big feelings. This story helps children develop empathy, emotional intelligence, and enhances resiliency.

In this book, Riley works through the stages of grief as she copes with losing her best friend Milo. Riley and Milo: A Puppy’s Story of Coping with Grief and Loss leads children through dealing with death and the stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, sadness, and acceptance.

There’s a legend that bumblebees small wings cannot carry their big bodies, however they don’t realize it and will fly anyway. In Fly Anyway, a little bumblebee is told she can’t fly, but she doesn’t listen and finds herself on a journey from the beaches to the mountains and so many more places. Fly Anyway teaches children about friendship, perseverance, and following dreams.

Brittney Kempink’s Three Friends Limeade: Friends and Business Mix Together is a colorful book about characters who have their own limeade stand. Kempink teaches children about doing business and working together with others. The end of the book also has a fun limeade recipe!

For teachers, you can check out our list of books on our website. We recommend the following for this school year.

¡Spanish for You!: Spanish Course for Beginners and Advanced Students A1-B1 by Heidi McPherson is a detailed textbook to learn and teach Spanish. It has real-language usage with useful vocabulary and grammar. English translations are included for understanding. The book also contains exercises and a list of words at the end of the book.

From “America’s Most Hilarious Teacher” Mike Rivera, you’ll encounter the unique perspectives of a comedian and teacher. From Stand-Up Comedian to Stand-Up Teacher is a book about the experiences of both worlds and Mike’s story of bringing both worlds together.

Whether you are looking for an inspiring story or an informational read, there is something for everyone. As W.B. Yeats said, “Education is not the filling of a pot but the lighting of a fire”.
